U.S. and China slapped $34 billion in tariffs on each other Friday, in a dispute that could drag on for months or years. Here's how markets are responding to the tariff disputehttps://on.wsj.com/2KDZlo9

China’s economy will collapse long before ours. However, that may not matter because they are Communist. Has there ever really been a trade war between a capitalist and communist economies?

Technically China isn’t really communist anymore. Their economy is capitalism with strong government controls. It’s not about whose economy collapse first, the problem is that both economies and the people in them will suffer real damage

It's technically called corporatism or more commonly known as fascism.

Not really, because corporatism is that business interest control the government and China is quite the opposite

So, you think Communism is more responsive to the needs of it’s citizens than a free market economy?

I didn’t say that...but btw...a strong central government imposing tariffs is not a free market economy...whether in the US or China

Ahh, I’m actually not sure what you’re trying to say. What I’m saying is China can probably impose greater hardships on it’s citizens than us, because a single party Communist government is less responsive to public dissatisfaction than ours.Hence, not sure how this will workout.

Saying two things. You said: a) this is capitalism vs communism; from an economic sense it's just two forms of capitalism b) the Chinese economy would collapse first; that's foolish as both economies and people will be severely harmed. A suicide pact..who shoots first?
