Annoying, people truly have no concept of the pressure kids are put under in this day and age and it is the ADULTS doing it to them. B’s and C’s aren’t good enough. They HAVE to get mostly A’s to get into even most state schools. SAT scores must be sky high.

And don’t even get me started on what we do to kids in sports. We treat 13 yr old like hey are peofessional@athletes with private lessons and year round play in every sport. I’ve gone to bed before my kids since they were 12! So sick of the “ everyone gets a trophy BS”
-
So are you for or against 8th place trophies?
-
Again likely done for the parents, kids don’t want those!
-
Yeah 100% agree. I’m a firm believer that here is a correlation in teen suicide and these 8th place trophies. If you always “win” you don’t know how to deal with real life L’s.

I'm a professor. Grade inflation is real. Lots of stories I could tell about this.
-
Tim I'm a college professor too. I concur.
-
I'll be the third to confirm this

Yes, but how do you grade inflate showing up to class EVERYday, turning in EVERY assignment, and working on EVERY project? I knew many who skipped days and missed assignments. I find this to be the differences in grades. Maybe more people are doing their work now.
-
Because showing up for class is expected and all the things u mention. When r people going to realize participation does not equal performance. If that were the case, I should be in the major leagues.
-
...um, because showing up and assignments are part of your points that count toward your grades. Did you go to college? Because you would've known a 1000 point class some of those points were for participation and turning in assignments in addition to your grades.

-
No I have never been to college. I made my millions from putting in washers and dryers at Disney world.
-
...now that explains why you @ me with such foolishness. Showing up is a step behind preparations in terms of performance. So, maybe if you would've prepared and shown up you may have made it to the major leagues, but it sounds like you didn't do either hence poor performance.
-
Your knowledge dazzles me. You absolutely know everything about me from two statements. Not one of my statements were directed to anything about you. Just about your observation. Wow.
-
Did you not say "you" would've made the major leagues if my statement about going to class everyday and turning in assignments should count for performance? I deduced from your statement you didn't prepare and/or tried out for the ML. Am I wrong?

Higher GPA equals more grads being accepted into grad programs, which is then spun into "look how many of ourgrads go to med/law/grad school". Which then drives enrollment and drives up revenue. Nothing that can be profitted from has any integrity anymore
