Manuel Lopez Orbador would be good for Mexico. Mexico needs socialist reforms, wealth, power is being wielded by a few rich people and the drug mafia.

He said he would cancel reforms. He´s obstinate like Trump. He don´t speak english. So, this country will go to the abyss. I can see the future. #MondayMorning

“first leftist president since the 1980s“? Is this for real? Am I missing something?

They probably consider Lopez Portillo a “leftist” since his government was the last to be considered “revolutionary” then came the technocrats.

Mexico hadn’t had a leftist government ever. It’s a big deal.

I’m stunned. How could that be possible What did you mean by “technocrats”? By “leftist”, we mean “left-liberal/progressive” right?

Technocrats were bankers, Yale educated, in favor of Neo liberalism among some other things. And yes, left liberal, progressive.

Yes, it was a bad thing for Mexico. They followed all rules imposed by the IMF and the world bank. Crippling austerity, reduction of the social safety net, etc.

Fox to Nieto to Obador is same consistent socialist communist corrupt criminals running a country on bribes, money laundering, and economic incompetence. Great weather, soil, available labor, great tourism, and 75 years of a failed nation due to cartel control .
