Four out of every 10 households on the cusp of retirement won't be able to maintain their standards of living. The crisis of old age isn't approaching. It's here.https://on.wsj.com/2tEMurc

Truly sad that this generation that made more wealth than and before it collectively didn't even put 5% away. Funding a retirement plan should be mandatory and they should be untouchable before age 65. Or we could privatize social security.

Yes with the cost of medical insurance due to ACA requiring you to pay for the most expensive procedures you will never use and 40 million plus living off the government resulting in higher taxes the money you saved is losing staying power every day

The intergenerational transfer of wealth will continue as long as Seniors vote disproportionately.

Maybe @BarackObama shouldn't have taken 716 Billion out of Medicare to fund a failed Obamacare. Everyone with a brain knows Obama wanted his plan to fail so the US would eventually go to a single payer system. Too bad Hilary didn't win.

Retirement is overrated / the economy will benefit from older proven workers. Physical labor has declined since this century old thinking of retiring. Smart people will want to be engaged up until they die and don't see retiring as an option.

What people want or need to do and what they can do are different things. Better to prepare for a full retirement and then work if you want/are able than foolishly assume you'll always be able (physically, mentally) to earn a wage.

What's the difference in preparing for retirement and preparing for life? Retirement isn't going to get you much after you're hit by a bus at age 28 and 6 feet under.

Didn't Obama raise the retirement age? Yes he did.
