Privatizing the Postal Service would provide greater freedom to raise prices and negotiate pay and benefits, according to a White House proposalhttps://on.wsj.com/2MeH0dJ

A reminder that the postal service is a part of the Constitution, not an Amendment! Article 1 Section 8

Who will suffer the most - rural residents. They vote for whom?

Good idea. You also can’t force private companies to keep up the service on unprofitable sectors so rural America say goodbye to cheap mail or any mail.

NEVER! The Postal Service serves everyone in the United States, even those who live on the far side of nowhere. It's a service with a storied history and is part of our shared heritage. Also, what do you think will happen to mailed election ballots if USPS is privatized?

The USPS has a gap but that's in large part to prefunding retirement for DECADES before employees retire. Get rid of that and there are issues but a multitude of ways can fix this including creating a bank serving low income patrons. You hate USPS because it proves self-sustain

Republicans passed a law to make USPS fully fund their pension program with the express purpose of bankrupting the USPS.

That was what I was talking about. They can't STAND the idea something govt. funded could be self-sufficient for so long and do a comparable, if not better, job than a private for-profit business. It flies in the face of their "everything is better" privatized agenda.

Unconstitutional like our fiat specie currency. But nothing stops a putocracy from enriching it's friends.

Misspelled plutocracy BUT..maybe history will morph the word into PUTINocracy for future generations to understand how the 21st century failed to reach it's full human potential

This is NOT about what’s best for the Postal Service or America. This is Trump and his GOP crony vultures killing another government service then taking it over to make a buck at the consumer’s expense.
