Funny the article doesn’t show how much American products are already taxed over in Europe. It’s difficult to find American foods and when you do they’re very expensive. I’m against tariffs but it is a two way street. Hopefully The WSJ will paint the whole picture next time.

Europeans don't like US produce because it is inferior. They prefer to pay more for quality.

That perception is understood. Lived there for 3 years and owned an Audi and a VW....I wouldn’t even consider either now. That being said I buy Acura and Lexus....far superior to anything European. More concerning to you and I one would imagine is the overwhelming China....

Importing knockoffs that look the same as very well designed and made European products. Jackets, purses, shoes etc I absolutely buy made in China only if last resort. I literally look at where products are made. I was stunned at how fast China was infiltrating stores.....

Figured the US lesson would be learned. Our trade deficit with them alone more than pays for their military budget. While we beat each other up China steamrolls both of us. Summary: Quality matters-so does fair trade. Let’s compete w/tariffs and focus on the true abuser of trade

Harleys aren't really great bikes at all. I'll take even a Japanese Single Malt before Bourbon any day. US exports are down because US produce sucks.

If US doesnt manufacture anything how can it close the deficit in trade in goods?

American businesses are already paying EU tariffs. EU is just raising their tariffs even more.

We deserve the pain these policies of economic isolationism cause. People like me will be just fine, but the Magat King's slack-jawed zombie acolytes will be hit very hard...as they mindlessly slobber the words, "Obama's fault, Obama's fault, Obama's fault...but, her emails..."

The US is self-sufficient in everything that counts these days, having cut out the lunacy of importing oil instead of drilling its own. You can't say that about the EU whose tough-talking is outranked by their weaknesses.

So sad that the orange man is leading the United States to economic destruction. Tariffs from China, EU, Canada and Mexico all targeting different goods now watch the job losses kick in.
