Why would they keep English as the official language if Britain, one of the four largest countries is leaving the bloc? They can pick German, French or Spanish, you know, language actually spoken in the Union.

Yes, French sounds beautiful, but in Thailand, for example, the locals learn English to be able to speak with the many tourist from many countries, especially China, where they learn English. Let it not be political! English united India, having, I think, about 600 dialects.

I found that to be true when I visited France. Also when I ski in Austria and Switzerland. When different places can't speak a local language they often use English as a general way to communicate. Thanks !
