Good read. It’s happening here too, we put a machine in the small sort that weighs each package under 5lbs to see if the weight on the package is right and bill the customer of the correct weight. The machine cost 750k, it paid for itself in 5 months.

UPS has had “record profits” every year for the past 25 that I am aware of. Went public with stock in 1999. And pay out more in corporate bonuses than into buying new trucks. They are nowhere near financial trouble. They just need to do a little maintenance. Dividends rule all.
