White House trade official Peter Navarro apologizes for insulting Canada’s Trudeau https://on.wsj.com/2y2g5Q5 pic.twitter.com/a8MxQza6rd

Mr. Navarro had said there was a “special place in hell for any foreign leader that engages in bad-faith diplomacy.” The apology was made in comments at WSJ's CFO Network event in Washington.

Did he really apologize? 🤷🏻‍♀️ IMHO he just sounded regretfully 🤔 I #appreciate & #respect ✊🏼 an authentic apology but that did not seem directed towards @JustinTrudeau or #Canada 🇨🇦 The viciousness of his comments & apology seem out of sync? #BetterLuckNextTime ☘️

He obviously has no idea of the scope of his comment. He fits right in with the rest of them- not self aware; misses the point completely. Lame apology. PM Trudeau had every right to calmly project his intentions in response to the way Trump approached sanctions.
