Last year, U.S. movie ticket sales dropped to the lowest level since 1995. Some die-hard fans are going alonehttps://on.wsj.com/2J9t8Ej

I doubt seeing it alone would make it any better. The new films are so bad, I've started to actually appreciate the prequels. RIP Star Wars.

Could it be the lecturing horse shit and all the pointers on improving your thinking and behavior that the flicks these days keep churning out? #idunno

That's because the movie selection was horrid last year...

People have different likes & dislikes as far as movies go. Sometimes we go together, sometimes we go alone. Never thought about it one way, or the other, as being strange.

Ticket sales would be a lot higher if ticket prices werent insane for many theaters. I miss the days where I could casually see movies at the theater 2-5 times a week and it not really impact my bank account.

Maybe if they dropped ticket and concession prices that trend would change. With so many other cheaper options, seems logical.

I used to be more of a cinephile when I was younger and did this all the time. I didn't really realize people considered it taboo. I would still go with friends, dates, etc., but those tended to be the movies I didn't care about as much. Now movies mostly suck so I don't bother.

My husband and I went to see Solo last Friday late afternoon. We were the only people in the theater.

Maybe if they weren’t charging $20 a ticket these days. Those greedy animals
