Even with retaliatory moves under way in China as well as in Europe and North America, there's no sign the Trump administration is wary of inching closer to a trade warhttps://on.wsj.com/2J9ZJtK

I think it is in @realDonaldTrump ’s pathology to bring negotiations to the brink of destruction before he can be satisfied that he has gotten a good deal. I think he finds leverage in the chaos he creates & he wants the other party to feel a sigh of relief when a deal is struck

trump is not wary of trade wars because he still thinks they are easy to win. Apparently, “Mr Art of the Deal” has not read any history books or any economics books. Or any diplomacy books for that matter.

Nous devons croire qu’éventuellement le bon sens triomphera. Mais malheureusement, les actions prises par le gouvernement américain ne semblent pas aller dans cette direction.

When a country (USA) is losing many billions of dollars on trade with virtually every country it does business with, trade wars are good, and easy to win. Example, when we are down $100 billion with a certain country and they get cute, don’t trade anymore-we win big. It’s easy!

No he's not. Trump is an economic ignoramus. We will always have trade deficits with countries that send us cheap stuff and we send them paper in return.

Oh yea let’s just carry 700 billion trade deficits every year... LOL at these armchair economists

Trade deficits don't matter. We buy more from these countries because we're wealthier than they are. I have a trade deficit with my grocery store. They will never buy more from me than I buy from them.

Deficits do matter if you want high paying manufacturing jobs for the middle class... transferring wealth to other nations is not a good idea...

Trump is attempting to destabilize the world to create enemies of allies. He wants to make Americans think Russia is out friend.
