We figured out in 2008/2009 and after that the system is rigged for the rich and connected - democracy elected Trump and you can see how vengeful they are to change the outcome

I think core problem is so many institutions leverage their power toward goals that have nothing to do with the mission we trust them to perform. Consider higher ed - supposed to promote social mobility/ opportunity thru education, but they’re obsessed w/ own prestige... 1/

Repairing trust is going to require a lot of our leaders to focus on those core missions they’re entrusted to perform and dial down the rest. As Bill Belichick would say - “do your job.” It starts with that. 2/

This country was founded on the principal that governments can't be trusted, and that our Constitution thankfully reflects that mistrust. A government that admonishes the population to "just trust us" is a totalitarian government. Trust must be earned.
