        I think people ate jealous they don't have relationships where they are close with their parents or children. There is nothing wrong with communicating with your family daily, no matter the age.

        This is social class issue. My oldest is 22yo & living independently on the other side of the country. She was taught frugality & independence & was ready to go after HS. A few years of real life, now she is looking at college-which she’ll pay for herself.

        The good side is the kids felt like at home & that someone cares, so they don't feel the need to look for those emotional needs. On a different side if the kid like the old way- everything on their own- they actually felt the need to seek someone to love & care & attention.
