'Roseanne' is an extreme example of how social media has demolished the line between reality and fictionhttps://on.wsj.com/2J3DzJT

The first amendment should protect her and her opinion. However the super sensitive america we live in unfortunately will cost you your job if you try to enjoy your first amendment rights. #standwithroseanne

You don't understand how the first amendment works. This isn't your fault, its a failure of our country's education system. We can all learn and grow. God bless.

So, this is for you and the other people who may look at this thread: The 1st Amendment guarantees that the government cannot put you in jail or punish you for speaking out against it. It does NOT prevent a company exercising its right to choose who they advertise with or for.

Yes, a show where the main character’s name is the same as the actor who plays her and who holds a great many of the same views and prejudices would never be able to accomplish that same scenario in a non-social media world. 🤷‍♀️

You know, I bet there are very successful racists in entertainment that manage to keep their opinions to themselves. @therealroseanne is not one of them. If you’re gonna be dumb, you better be tough.pic.twitter.com/yy1dglA97u

What she wrote was fairly insensitive, but in the direction we're going, the end game is that we'll all be bland inoffensive cookie cutter drones, as we're shaped by political correctness gone mad. We'll all be nice, and the human equivalent of hummus.

Roseanne is just tweeting what the trump voters are thinking.

No. Trump is an extreme example of that line being demolished. Those uneducated lemmings actually believed the fiction of trump’s scripted show. Believed the attention Sterns and Matthews gave him all those years was serious news not farce.

Barr was a racist nut on and off the show. No blurring of lines there!

Rosanne is a great example of how there is a double standard. Hate, racism, sexism and horrible conduct are perfectly ok from the left, infact its the only reason some of them have jobs. They try and blackball anyone who wont ride hard for the treasonous pedo dem party.
