MTPD on scene of shooting in parking lot at Southern Ave Stn ~ 4:45pm. Male victim, unknown age, with gunshot wound. CPR was initiated but despite life saving efforts victim was declared deceased on scene. Investigation ongoing. Add’l details to be provided as available. #wmata

Capitol South Station has reopened. Bus shuttle service has been canceled. Thank you for your patience. #wmata

Due to a power outage, Capitol South Station remains closed. Trains will bypass the station until it reopens. Our crews are working to resolve this issue. Shuttle bus service requested. #wmata

All trains will now run every 10 min between Shady Grove and Glenmont. We apologize that service did not meet expectations and we are reviewing our work in this area to ensure we can do the necessary maintenance while meeting customer needs. #wmata

Recognizing that we have not delivered the service promised on the Red 🔴 Line this weekend, we are clearing the track work between Dupont Circle & Friendship Heights early and are no longer single tracking. #wmata

These trains are in service, but are not providing an end-of-line destination because of the glitch. We apologize for this inconvenience and are working on a resolution. #wmata

We have some technical glitches with certain Blue 🔵 Line Plus + trains reading either “Special” or “No Passengers.” Our car maintenance teams are working to address the issue. #wmata

Additional delays caused by unauthorized person on tracks at Bethesda & since resolved. Suspect taken into custody by MTPD. #wmata

Due to a switch issue, Red 🔴 Line single tracking extended from Dupont Circle to Friendship Heights. Trains running every 23 min instead of 18 min between Shady Grove & Dupont Circle. #wmata
