Overall I am getting a feeling that perhaps the assault rifles actually received an overall BUFF - sure you have to pull down harder now, but the horizontal recoil seems to be far less punishing.

Hi Wacky. You tested all the 5.56 weapons with the halfgrip as far as I understood. But as far as I remember, you haven't tested all grips on the scar-l and Aug like you did with m4 right? Since the weapons don't act equally, then this test won't be accurate
