An #Ebola case has been confirmed today in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire🇨🇮. Initial investigations found that the patient had travelled to #CotedIvoire from Guinea by land & arrived in Abidjan on 12 August. This is the country’s first case of Ebola since 1994.https://www.afro.who.int/news/cote-divoire-declares-first-ebola-outbreak-more-25-years …

The #Ebola patient in Cote d’Ivoire🇨🇮 was admitted to a hospital after experiencing a fever & is currently receiving treatment. There is no indication that the case is linked to the earlier outbreak in Guinea. Further investigation & genomic sequencing will be carried out.pic.twitter.com/9snoM4SICr

WHO is helping to coordinate cross-border #Ebola response activities & procure Ebola vaccines from Guinea. An aircraft is departing Abidjan soon to collect the vaccines which will vaccinate people at high risk, including health workers, first responders & contacts.pic.twitter.com/2PpFDMXwYA

Let's hope it does not turn into 2015 with it travelling to the USA! The worst outbreak since 76 if memory serves me correctly. The vaccine is pretty new from what i recall. Dec 2019.

I wonder what implications this will have with Delta swirling around?? This is really troubling. Next time WHO has a Q and A, i would like to ask this question and get thoughts and perspectives on this.

Terrible News! I sure hope they can contain it and not allow it to spread everywhere! Sorry for the person who was infected but hopefully that will just be a strange coincidence if it doesn't spread.
