A 13 year old girl who’s been raped by her own dad several times has been killed by him this week because her mother refused to drop the charges against him. He was released by the police on the same day he killed her. That’s
#BRAZIL right now -
Well I hope he's brought to justice!! Who even rapes a 13year old...men

-
Nope, he is a free man protect by the law during
#elections. Even if he can be found he can’t be#arrested. It’s real life#movie Purge but instead of 12 hours it’s the whole week Nobody can be arrested on elections week in this#shameful#country https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Purge#women

I think this is wrong and offensive. Violence isn’t just against females. What about males. What about we focus on ending violence for all people regardless of gender as males are also targeted but this never seems to be spoken about.
-
This is entirely true and I agree. However, simply because this in particular is about women, doesn't deny the fact that there is also violence against men.
-
No but the problem is that violence against women tends to be the exclusive focus, not just of this campaign against violence, but in all of them. A recent campaign where I live admitted in passing that men suffer 1/2 as much sexual abuse as women (and I believe that is not >>
-
2> right, I bet men underreport even more than women do) but the entire campaign was about staying silent helps him, speaking up helps her, portraying the man as the attacker, the woman as the victim. 70% of all one directional partner violence is done by the woman, likely >>
-
3> because the men know if they fight back they'll be the ones accused of abuse, they'll be the ones in the back of the police car at the end of the night. This fear is real and legitimate, and things like this that make it look like women are always and only the victim cause it.
