I wrote in Romney for POTUS+Sasse for VP. I don't believe the major-party candidates are well-positioned to provide the type of leadership our country needs & deserves. And the fact that I live in a safe blue state gives me the luxury of expressing that belief through my vote. 1/

That said, if I lived in a swing state, I'd probably cast a strategic vote. On balance, the former VP is likely the better choice, largely for the reasons
@JeffFlake explains here: https://youtu.be/S_9Gk6SMHnA . I hope swing state residents seriously consider casting such a vote. 2/1 reply 0 retweets 0 likesShow this thread -
Will Foster Retweeted Cindy McCain
In addition to Sen. Flake, Cindy McCain & Lindsey Graham (both of whom I greatly respect) have personally vouched for the former Vice President's character: https://youtu.be/5uIbgOw6e9s?t=1273 … & https://twitter.com/cindymccain/status/1308552894388473856?s=20 … 3/

Will Foster Retweeted Mitt Romney
And at least at the level of rhetoric, Biden has expressed a deep respect for all Americans, even those who disagree with him. Romney was correct when he noted that Biden "refuses to stoop as low as others" in his party. 4/https://twitter.com/MittRomney/status/1316023618422235138?s=20 …

Biden is far more conciliatory towards his political opponents than most on either side of the aisle. A recent example: https://youtu.be/fo5xby25HH8?t=199 …. There are exceptions--he told a black crowd that Romney policies would "put y'all back in chains"--but they tend to prove the rule. 5/

Will Foster Retweeted Joe Biden
He has consistently focused on unity, like in his World Series ad: https://twitter.com/JoeBiden/status/1318753877076881408?s=20 …. Now, one could question whether that is merely a campaign ploy, to be jettisoned in January. We will see. But it's an important and welcome message regardless. 6/

I don't believe the former VP deserves my vote. Among many other things, he's expressed openness to court-packing, & his running mate has at various times both said she's "absolutely open" to packing & called for the impeachment of a sitting justice of the Supreme Court. 7/

Nevertheless, he is a candidate I would definitely be comfortable voting for if it were absolutely necessary. Many have grave & weighty reasons for supporting the President's re-election. I understand those views, but I do not share them. 8/

For those worried about Biden's policy agenda, you can take the advice given by the N.H. Union Leader: "We suggest splitting the ballot and electing a healthy dose of GOP senators and representatives. The best governance often comes through compromise." 9/https://www.unionleader.com/opinion/editorials/our-choice-is-joe-biden/article_e2053388-cc66-59f4-9e7f-8e01a1ea11df.html …

As for the Illinois U.S. Senate race, I cast my vote for @ElectMarkCurran. He is a long-shot, but he wrote a National Review op-ed that really impressed me, https://www.nationalreview.com/2020/09/police-codes-of-silence-threaten-public/ …, & he has been endorsed by the Chicago Tribune, https://www.chicagotribune.com/opinion/editorials/ct-edit-chicago-tribune-endorsement-mark-curran-20201009-jlwxhltzmjdd3e22wfpb4q7zpq-story.html …. end/
