    The humanitarian situation in Yemen remains fragile. This year will feed an additional 240,000 Yemenis per month. Yesterday I heard from who highlighted how support to the Famine Relief Fund from Saudi Arabia & UAE is helping tackle the threat of famine.

    Thanks . for helping bring this growing crisis to the world’s attention. We urgently need $6bn to reach the 41 million people teetering on the brink of starvation. If we turn our backs on them they will go over the edge. We must act NOW to prevent famine from taking hold!

    The global economic crisis set off by Covid has pushed many who were already living hand-to-mouth over the edge. 270 million people could face potentially life-threatening food shortages this year, compared to 150 million pre-pandemic, a UN analysis found.

    Good news: 175 trucks have arrived in with food and humanitarian aid. Great progress, now we need 100 trucks rolling every single day to reach the millions in dire need. Now more than ever we need full access, more funds and most important of all a ceasefire TODAY.

    Here in Cabo Delgado, is delivering cash assistance to families whose lives have been devastated by the insurgency. These vouchers help people buy the food they need AND stimulate the local economy. This means $33M worth of economic activity and hope across !

    Great to have you at the Coalition event this morning! The strong partnership between the U.S. and WFP has already fed millions of school children around the world. Now working together with the Coalition we can reach many millions more!

    The U.S. is world’s largest provider of international aid & we know school feeding is key to reducing hunger & promoting gender equity. That’s why we joined Global School Meals Coalition to launch at with goal of giving ALL children access to nutritious meals by 2030.
