  4. Refugees from Mariupol arrived starting last night in Zaporizhzhia as part of the largest convoy of private cars—possibly up to 1,000 vehicles—to escape the destroyed Russian occupied city. As always, the WCK team was ready to welcome families with a hot meal! 🇺🇦

    This morning Russia fired missiles near Lviv. Most were intercepted & no casualties. But instead of focusing on evil, here’s a Sunday cat update: Serhii & the kittens who escaped Mykolaiv are all well in Lviv 🐱 Yulia from our team delivered cat food! 🇺🇦

    Scenes from our distribution in Marganets in eastern Ukraine! The team heard about refugees living here needing food, so we came with 30 pound grocery kits… Many more people came than expected, but we we had enough—and served 774 families! 🇺🇦

  8. Today the WCK team distributed food kits to 1200 families in Mahdalynivka! Many refugees came here fleeing from near Mariupol & the Donetsk region. We met mothers with young children, seniors & people with disabilities who don’t know when they will ever go home.

    This is Tsyrkuny outside Kharkiv. Up until a few days ago, it was occupied by Russian troops who were pushed back by Ukrainians. Tatiana from the team was first to enter & delivered fresh meals—sealed to last months! Remains of a cluster bomb lean against the building.

    Update from who is on east side of Kharkiv in Ukraine…Reporting from one of our restaurants! Power has been out for 3 days here due to bombing, but these Food Fighters are still cooking 💪 Amazing to see the love put into every meal! 🇺🇦

    Great to see: bought 20 tons of apples from a Moldovan company to distribute in neighboring Ukraine. 100K+ tons of the Moldovan crop have been blocked from export by Putin's war; this partnership supports the small country’s industry while feeding Ukrainians in need.

  13. Meet Jerry—a Food Producer Network grantee in Puerto Rico! 👋In 2020 a driver crashed into his trailer, taking away the ability to move his boat around the island. With his WCK grant, Jerry bought a trailer to travel to diverse fisheries, helping ensure sustainability!

  15. The kids were all smiles today during lunch in New Mexico! Project Camp offers a day camp for children who have been impacted by disaster or crisis—including the devastating wildfires. WCK is bringing daily meals to Glorieta Adventure Camp. Nihal loves the 🥪!

  19. Weighing 30 pounds each, our grocery kit delivery often turns into a group effort by families picking up! Yesterday the WCK team brought 650 of these food kits to this community a few hours outside Dnipro. Included in the bags? Fruit bars for the kids! 🍎🍇🍌

    The Russians may be gone from the areas around Chernihiv north of Kyiv, but this is what they left behind. Vasyl from the team sent this report from Novosilka. Tatiana lost her parents here and now helps us distribute meals & food packs to families. 🇺🇦
