More than 12,000 people in Albania remain without homes after the 6.4-magnitude earthquake that devastated the country in November. Through both the WCK kitchen and our local partners, we have served 60,000 meals to these families.

Meet Tracey & Mitchell! They've lived in Mallacoota for 18 years where Mitchell has a firewood business & Tracey runs ‘Cafe 54’, a popular eatery in town. Amid the fires, WCK's Feel Good Feeds program has helped Cafe 54 remain open to serve their neighbors.

And now, it's time for dinner from the WCK tent! We get a lot of help from volunteers coming in as well as refugees living in the camp. Many of the kids enjoy helping to clean up both before and after the meal, along with serving food to others.

Each day, WCK's Chef Relief Team serves dinner to refugees living in tents at the US-Mexico border waiting for their asylum cases to be heard. For various reasons including violence, finances, and more, families are unable to return home while they wait.

Before we arrived, Maria was cooking for the refugee camp every Thursday night from her church in Matamoros, Mexico. She’s now joined WCK along with Juanita and with their help, we’re serving more than 1000 refugees each day.
