Murphy and our bald eaglet guest are working on bonding during the day, and then the eaglet comes into the hospital for the evening for warmth and food - 250 g a day!

Do wild eagles hork up some food into the nest for self-feeding babies or is this a "you're an 80's latchkey kid" situation? (I.e., not precisely as found in nature but shouldn't harm the chick's chances to be a good eagle grownup.)

They do sometimes, but it generally doesn’t get chopped up so nicely for them 😆
