Dear Gillespie County Elections Commission:

I want to thank the commission for hiring me to be the inaugural Elections Administrator. We have accomplished many positive changes during the last three years, most visibly modernizing the method of voting and acquiring a new voting system.

However, there are some negative changes that have also happened in the elections landscape. The threats against election officials and my election staff, dangerous misinformation, lack of full time personnel for the elections office, unpaid compensation, and absurd legislation have completely changed the job I initially accepted.

The life commitment I have given to this job is not sustainable. In light of these changes and for my health and well-being I am resigning as Elections Administrator. Please consider this my two week notice and my last day will be August 16th.
