Dear Lawyers, Do I have this right? Cohen claims Hannity is a client. Hannity says he never paid Cohen for legal services. But attorney-client relationships don't require $$ to change hands. And by discussing this on the air, isn't Hannity waiving any attorney-client privilege?
Hannity is not waving attorney client privilege. The client holds the privileged and only he can relinquish it. If it were me, I wouldn't consider it relinquished absent a written statement from the client unambiguously waiving attorney client privileged.

I would also advise a client to never ever wave attorney client privileged in any circumstances unless it was somehow in their best interests, which is extremely unlikely.

To do otherwise could risk disbarment etc. Though Cohen may get disbarred anyway...
