#California, with its large #immigrant communities, would be disproportionately harmed by depressed participation in the #2020Census (my op-ed with Sec. of State Padilla ahead of filing suit earlier): https://www.sfchronicle.com/opinion/openforum/article/Citizenship-question-on-2020-census-may-result-in-12783055.php …
California get's Federal money based on how many people are in #California. If the Feds add a citizenship question to the census we will lose money. We already pay far more to #DC than we get back to the tune of tens of billions of dollars. This will make that theft worse.

Only if people lie or avoid it. Why should we protect people that want to hide in the shadows? Why can’t we get a real count of the undocumented? What is it that you fear about a question no American would bat a eye at? Why do we even allow so many to stay?

While I do want to protect those people... this has nothing to do with protecting them. It has to do with how much money CA gets from the Feds. However much you hate undocumented immigrants, if you live in CA it is better for you if they are counted in terms of Fed funds to CA.

A lot of our federal dollars are being spent on benefits and education for illegal aliens, things that we, the American people are opposed to.

Well, I'm a proud American, and I believe those that have been brought here through no fault of their own should have a chance to make America great again. Or, we could let them languish, and make America worse.
