#COVID19 has taught me that humans will never get off this rock in any meaningful way. We'll run out of resources before we can or succumb to the #ClimateCrisis. Maybe consciousness was just a blip. Maybe the great filter is our ultimate destination.

If a few thousand humans can survive through to the other side of the
#ClimateCrisis, so live through a few thousand years of difficult struggle, the civilization that rises up after will probably be much more sustainable & ecologically conscientious. Long hope is still hope...1 vastaus 0 uudelleentwiittausta 1 tykkäys -

Unfortunately by then we may be out of resources to effectively leave. Once some resources are gone, they're gone forever and we stay in stone age.

Disagree. Landfills will be an excellent source of resources. Also there are still a lot of untapped resources in places like Antarctica etc. There won't be as much fossil fuels, but that's probably a good thing!

I hope you're right, because it's better than if I am.

Exactly... might as well assume we are, since none of us will live to see it anyway. Also consider that the resources needed for a few million people are exponentially lower than those need for the many billions trying to scratch out existence on earth now...
