There are more counties in 30 US states, including California (58), than there are states in the US. If one were to analyze national politics from the county—not state or congressional perspective—what would they come away thinking about national American politics?
As the broken & corrupt DC political system shows, with it's totally dysfunctional and oligarch controlled priorities (war and profits over infrastructure & healthcare), America isn't really a nation, it's several nations pretending to be one, & some of them hate each other.
