I’m sure homeless Americans are grateful to not be homeless in Afghanistan.https://twitter.com/thomaschattwill/status/1427305988261138432 …

Actually—yes, I’m going to take being homeless in a Western society (which is what the original post said) over the alternatives every day and twice on Sunday.

Have you been homeless? If not then you are not speaking from a position of knowledge, but from one of profound privilege. Everyone I know who has been homeless suffers some form of PTSD, so your grandstanding about how great they have it is pretty absurd.

Both things can be true you realize. Being homeless in US can be traumatic and still be far less traumatic than being homeless in other countries. What every you think of our social safety net, it is way better than India’s, for example.

Have you ever been homeless? Is there there anything more absurd than a bunch of privileged keyboard jockeys extolling how good the US homeless have it?

Have you ever been homeless in Afghanistan? By your own poor reasoning you have no ground to stand on.

Ok, but privileged people sitting behind keyboards or smart phones talking about how bad it is to be homeless one place or another is absurd by any metric whether I have ground to stand on or not. Americans hate homeless folks, so that probably makes the experience pretty bad...
