Tomorrow is the 100 year anniversary of the discovery of insulin. In 1921, insulin’s discoverers sold its patent for $1 so insulin would be affordable to all. Today, a single vial of insulin that lasts me about a week is priced at $300+, only in the United States.

We should create a non-profit that can just make and sell it at cost. Struggling folks shouldn’t have to play “Your money or your life” every damn week.

There is actually a company working on this! I dont know the name but they are finding a new way to make insulin and are giving it away for very cheap or nothing (i can't remember but I think it was like 10 bucks at most most but more around 5-)

Before providing insulin to patient, you have to prove to the FDA you have the capacity to make safe drug. Which cost a lot of money. Also, insulin sold by pharma is vat grown. It cost cents to produce.

By the way, my opinion is that government should produce and distribute insulin for free. That's why we pay tax. To take care of everyone.

Agreed. But they are clearly not going to do that for the foreseeable future.
