I'll likely vote "no" and @Vote_CNP Not sure CA secession makes sense any time soon. But California is getting fucked over in all sorts of undemocratic ways--see today's example of filibuster and the pathetic US Senate--and I think we should find ways to act more autonomously.https://twitter.com/Vote_CNP/status/1407028354851610645 …

I don't think urban, or even suburban or exurban Californians understand what they are supporting with these 'California nationalists'. They represent red-county bigots who think carbon tax is white genocide. Not a regressive tax supporter myself but let's be honest

They sound like State of Jefferson people. If CA moved towards independence in future decades, it would happen because young people, POC, LGBTI people and others rebelled against a US perpetually run by Republicans through rigged elections.

I mean, there's plenty of legit arguments against independence or secession. But just one or two clicks and you could see their platform and see that it's not right wing state of Jefferson shit. Jeez.

I think that is pretty evident that the only possible path for CA succession is one where the US veers to the extreme right while CA remains progressive and diverse.

Lol, I wish I had/I'm glad I never have the confidence to say something like, "I think it's pretty evident that the only possible path..."

There are a few paths, but the decline of the US is readily apparent for all to see. If nothing else, California needs a plan B.
