Do you ever notice how Americans aren’t given much news or perspective from Black & brown countries including the ones that are geographically closer to the USA than Europe & Asia?

Mexico is a fantastic example of this. They recently had an election, and it was not presented as important news in the US corporate owned media landscape.

Yes, I think it's the most glaring example. We should know at least as much about México as we do Canada.

In Canada we have the impression the US knows almost nothing about Canada.

The US is a very inward looking society. But for example, the VP was sent to Guatemala & Mexico, while Biden is headed to Europe. The way English, Canadian, or even European politics is covered in the US (not to mention Israel/Palestine) is also tellingly more comprehensive

I’m sure the small amount of international news Americans consume is about a few wealthy trading partners. Even then, there is very little. We can have huge news stories here that are entirely relevant to the US but which you never seem to hear of.

The corporations that run our media prefer to keep us self focused. It makes our politics easier to control.
