I don't see any faction on the left that doesn't have a hater swarm pouncing on whoever it feels threatened by. Moderate progressives like the folks who love Warren are no different. Also every side likes to say they are the victims but the left is a circular firing squad.

What's a "moderate progressive"? A progressive who doesn't think you can bully Manchin into voting for an M4A bill?

From where we sit, you are a moderate progressive. You can be offended by that if you like, but it wasn't intended to be an offensive term. Who do you like better, AOC or Warren?

Equal. They're my top two and I don't rank them. They're the best communicators we have.

Do you feel like one of them is more progressive than the other?

Not really. They're not the same people and their focus is on different things. AOC leads with moral clarity, and Warren exposes the pernicious ways in which hidden aspects of government support the privileged. We need them both to do what they do.

I would argue there is daylight between the politics. So I would say Warren is a moderate progressive and AOC is merely a progressive. Bernie, by comparison, would be a leftist progressive etc. Basically I am just trying to illustrate my framing.

ok well it doesn't really mean much to me. I also don't see Bernie as more leftist than AOC, unless you define "leftism" as campaigning against the Democratic Party rather than within it, which seems like not a useful arbiter of leftism to me.

I think AOC might see Bernie as further left than her, but hard to say for sure. I think the best takeaway here is that we don't have to hate each other when we disagree. We need to figure out how to work together in spite of ideological differences... or the fascists will win.

I would totally agree with that. I think one of the main problems we have is a tendency to see someone who disagrees with one thing as someone who disagrees with everything, and that leads people to polarization within the left.

Completely agree. One thing the left is very good at is finding areas of disagreement to focus on and then hating on each other harshly because of those disagreements. We all need each other or we'll all lose together.
