A friend who went to seminary had to do a rotation as a hospital chaplain. His hardest day was back-to-back baptisms of babies who were not going to make it. He stayed with the parents of both until the babies died, helped them make arrangements.
He called me after the second death, sincerely questioning if he was cut out for pastoral work. The love and grief he had experienced that day overwhelmed him. Thank you for what you do for the parents.
My dad is an ordained minister and I remember that he and others said their hospital rotation was the hardest part of seminary.
I got the impression that nearly everyone questions whether or not they're capable of being a pastor during that time period. It's incredibly difficult.
.I'm not a very religious person, but hospital pastors were so comforting to me when my late husband had his stroke, and later when he died.
This tweet is everything. I went through the same. They were a comfort to both of us till he passed.
I’m sorry this man exists in such a way every one of his cruel, deluded statements are a headline and that you must endure seeing this.
