We are not the priority of the government that is supposed to represent us.
My heart breaks as so many of my friends watch their debts accumulate with no real solutions like cancelling rent, jobs guarantee or a basic income. We haven’t seen the worst of this crisis yet, and the federal government is preoccupied with trying to rush ACB into the SC.

I had to rely on the help of family, friends, and strangers to keep my home and be able to eat, but everyone is running out of resources. My sister and her family already had to move back in with my parents, as well as another sister and her fiance. I hope there's still room...

I’m basically telling Citi that I’m not paying on my card anymore unless they drop my interest to zero and let me make $200 payments Take it or leave it. I don’t care if they wreck my credit. What good is credit score these days if you don’t have the income to pay it back?

You may know this already, but they have changed the laws on charge offs so if you let the account get charged off, you will most likely be able to negotiate a “paid as agreed” settlement. That doesn’t wreck your credit, & allows you to settle for 10-30% of the original debt.

So many people carry the crippling burden of debt. Much of that is the choice made to live on tomorrow's money. I retired young by keeping it simple and no debt. Just good habits while working.

Our elected officials, the people who are supposed to work for us, have failed us. I know that we are all focused on November 3rd, but it is beyond time that we have a true reckoning for all of those whose salaries we pay to be our voice.
