Gen Xer here with a sincere question. Why do most people these days no longer want to schedule time to talk on the phone? Why prefer text – using only 2 thumbs to type, taking 10 times longer to communicate, and losing all nuance from intonation – even for 1-on-1 conversations?

Maybe this is wrong or just weird, but I like that in phone conversations, the voice can express a mood that differs from the one implied by the content of the words. -
Totally not wrong or weird! I’ve had many text convos go awry bc of misinterpretation and that could have been avoided with a quick call
