My MetroCard ran out today and the machine at a station wasn't accepting cards. I didn't have cash. A couple of cops were standing right there. I asked them if they'd give me shit if I jumped the turnstile. "Did you rob a bank? Shoot someone? Then no."

Seems like a better option would’ve been to walk to the next station to find a machine taking cards. Or, walk to an ATM to get cash and then return to the station? I guess that’s not as cool or funny to tweet about?

Literally happened to me more than once. Late to work over and over.

Did you “walk to the next station”?
or pay a $2 fee in addition to whatever your bank charges at some random, dank ATM with a cat sleeping on it to then pay $2.75?1 réponse 0 Retweet 8 j'aime -
Walked to the next station, and the machines were broken there too

Should I have just kept walking to different stations long enough to have gotten to my final destination? Maybe she’s saying we should all just walk wherever we need to go instead of using the MTA.
