My MetroCard ran out today and the machine at a station wasn't accepting cards. I didn't have cash. A couple of cops were standing right there. I asked them if they'd give me shit if I jumped the turnstile. "Did you rob a bank? Shoot someone? Then no."

or pay a $2 fee in addition to whatever your bank charges at some random, dank ATM with a cat sleeping on it to then pay $2.75?Should I have just kept walking to different stations long enough to have gotten to my final destination? Maybe she’s saying we should all just walk wherever we need to go instead of using the MTA.
