“What about landlords” is kind of like the “all lives matter” of the mass evictions we are about to see.

My concern is specifically re. these professional landlords/real estate speculators. They are waiting for mom and pop landlords to go belly up, presumably because their tenants cannot pay rent, and then they're going to swoop in and buy these parcels up. This must not happen.
mom and pop landlords should also get help. We can “afford” to help anyone or any group we need to as a country; my point is just that fighting for tenants to keep their homes helps everyone, even landlords. In the same way BLM doesn’t mean anyone else matters less than before.

My question is why doesn't the professional landlords class seem to care? It's part of a larger pattern of behavior we're seeing top to bottom that I am having a hell of a time wrapping my head around. I am trying to "get" the profit incentive re. mass evictions/high vacancies.

BLM: trust me, I have heard just about every lame-ass excuse for "all lives matter" you can imagine. I get it. I don't get why this situation has languished as it has. I really don't. Best I can figure those in power think someone else is gonna fix it.
