As we enter into the exciting 2021 City Council races, I just wanted to encourage all orgs that want to help and endorse these candidates to please decide if you’re going to get involved in their races *before* asking them to fill out questionnaires and attend forums. A Thread
There are so many wonderful orgs with wonderful missions who want to help. But one thing that really plagues grassroots campaigns is the constant request to fill out questionnaires that never get reviewed. This could happen bc an org has the best intentions.
However multiply that by all of the orgs that do the same thing and you have one volunteer or staffer dedicated to only filling out questionnaires and the candidate mostly only going to forums or interviews with orgs rather than knocking on doors. Let’s help them get elected!
For candidates, I encourage you to ask orgs if they’ve made this decision yet before spending time on lengthy questionnaires.
