While canvassing today I was approached by someone who told me to vote for ‘Mahoney’. I wasn’t aware of a Mahoney running here. I gave them my lit and they said they’d vote for me.
Then they gave me a card and it turned out to be a paid canvasser for the incumbent in my race.
It’s not their fault. This is what happens when you don’t have volunteer support.
And when they found no "Mahoney" on their ballot, they would choose the most familiar name, so it's a win for the incumbent either way.
But do have a lot of money...
