She took zero bullshit and had no filter. She’d always say “I can’t stand on” something, but she meant “I can’t stand” something. I think about that every time something frustrates me. E.g. I can’t stand on all the complacency that has led to how very broken our country is.

I got to tell her I was running for Congress before she passed away. I hope she heard me. You’ve all witnessed some of my fire lately. I know I inherited it from her. Thank you all for being on this journey with me.

Ty for sharing your journey with us. For what she survived in her life, & what she was about to accomplish, I can only stand here in awe. Your journey is your journey. But your fight is also mine. For those we love, for those we lost, for those we don't know. For your grandma!
