Warren v District of Columbia (1981) officially declared cops don't have a contractual obligation to protect and serve in America. Their lack of accountability always made that clear but learning it's official by a Supreme Court decision really blew my mind.

Maybe the bats protect against coronavirus as well as harm citizens. They are special bats, high tech batons that the NYPD can afford with the 5 or 6 billion dollar budget they have. Gotta spend the money on something I guess
