Today is the beginning of PRIDE month, when we celebrate the accomplishments and lives of LGBTQIA+ individuals--but we can't do that without recognizing that the movement was started by queer black trans women like Marsha P Johnson sparking a riot against police brutality.
Now more than ever, allies like myself must STAND UP and shout from the rooftops our support for black lives, queer lives, trans lives, and all the ways they intersect. Black lives matter. Queer lives matter. Trans lives matter. And that will never change.
