I’m sitting here with all these thoughts of how messed up our criminal justice system is. This is a story/thread so bear with me. About 5 years ago a man attacked me in Bryant Park.

They told him not to do it again and he walked away. Recently my campaign called the cops when we got a message that someone was stalking me. They said they would send some sort of update, and we never heard back.

Today I was horrified to see the 9+ minute video of the murder of #GeorgeFloyd. It hit me that our system is so broken that we see video after video of innocent black people being murdered by police.
And when someone actually needs help, nobody is there.

I'm sorry you were treated that way, Lauren and I'm sorry that this happens so often that we have to remind people who are supposed to be defending all of our lives that all of our lives matter.

I'm sorry you went through that. I hope our government stops hiring white supremacists for any job and I also think it should be a disqualifier for gun ownership.

I’m so sorry that happened, and thanks so much for sharing! I agree, every aspect of our criminal injustice system needs to be changed. I don’t even use the word “reform” anymore, because I think we’re way past that now. We need more than reform. We need real change.

It's an illusion. It's sole purpose is 2 protect the rich/the interests of the rich. It's a prime tool they use to oppress us, they play on the fear that without them, we would all suddenly meet our violent horrible demise, chaos eruption. The reality however is the opposite.

I am bipolar and had I been there I probably would have been hurt too because I would have run to save George Floyd. Not saying cause bipolar is the difference but I know I would not be able to contain myself because of my condition. I wish someone would have tried to save him.
