I’m sitting here with all these thoughts of how messed up our criminal justice system is. This is a story/thread so bear with me. About 5 years ago a man attacked me in Bryant Park.

I flagged police down and they unenthusiastically walked after the man who attacked me. I wanted to press charges and they told me I couldn’t unless I went to the hospital for my injuries. I literally calculated on the spot that I couldn’t afford a hospital bill.

They told him not to do it again and he walked away. Recently my campaign called the cops when we got a message that someone was stalking me. They said they would send some sort of update, and we never heard back.

Today I was horrified to see the 9+ minute video of the murder of
#GeorgeFloyd. It hit me that our system is so broken that we see video after video of innocent black people being murdered by police. And when someone actually needs help, nobody is there.Afficher cette discussion
