Nobody should profit off of someone’s illness. Nobody should profit off of someone trying to live. I can’t with the whole “then who would be motivated to create new medicines?” Make higher education tuition free and you’ll see.

A progressive channel I listen to all the time keeps saying Medicare should be “free.” I wish they would get rid of that narrative. We will be paying for it, just eliminating the gluttonous middlemen.

No. If the feds fund it, then it's free by nature of how federal finance works, as of 1971. There's likely more deflationary risk than inflationary risk from ending the profit health insurance industry, but with a federal job guarantee that won't be an issue either. It's free.
