What I can’t stand about means testing is it is purposely excludes cities like New York from help. $1200 doesn’t cover @&$% here. $75k or even $100k cutoffs exclude many who are struggling to pay rent and put kids through college. New Yorkers need help.

Lauren.. been trying to figure this out: An unemployed person is eligible for a 1,200 stimulus check, Regular unemployment benefits (avg $385 per week for 39 weeks) and an Extra $600 per week for 16 weeks. 13K for next 3 months. Are most ppl not qualified for unemployment?
It’s based on how much you’ve earned in 2018 or 2019 tax returns, not on current circumstances

Right that’s the $1200.. idiotic to means test. Especially given that some are getting 1.7 mil. But unemployment.. are tons of people having trouble and falling through the cracks?

I’ve seen the bureaucracy for food stamps and it’s nuts! Small business similar to me.. some are saying it’s better to lay ppl off. If ppl aren’t having trouble getting on unemployment.. then maybe it is. That’s where I’m coming from
