Damn right. If it is a benefit for ALL, then it is a benefit for ALL. Those who pay should be just as entitled to receive as those who don't. That is where fairness is.

This here. Taxing the rich and then not giving them the same benefits the rest of us get from it would just be doing the same thing to them that they've been doing to us. That's just bad business and would simply continue to perpetuate the class war.

For sure but it’s not even about that. Means testing will always leave someone out who really needs it.

@StephanieKelton has some great YouTube vids on MMT. Federal, US politicians seem 2 only engage in austerity talk when it’s politically convenient. Economically, it doesn’t mean tht we can have an unlimited deficit or keep printing money, but we shouldn’t b weaponizing (1/2) -

That’s exactly right. We tax the rich at an appropriate level NOT because we need the money, but because there’s an obscene wealth snd income gap that must be narrowed. It’s that gap that concentrates power, leaving most of us needlessly behind.
