Just got off the phone with a NYC principal, speaking about her top concerns during #COVID-19. Top of mind were: 1) Federal cuts to special education. Students are learning virtually which is very stressful and difficult for many students with disabilities WITH current funding.

2) Students require laptops. Many families share one laptop which makes it impossible to participate, esp with parents working from home needing the laptop too. 3) Students need the internet which many don’t have. 4) Standardized tests cancelled. What happens to funding?

Internet should be FREE for all! The federal government should fund enough laptops for any student who needs one. Period. Public schools should be solely federally funded based on number of students, with additional funding available for students with disabilities or ESL.

The internet absolutely should be free for all. The more I see your ideas, the more I want to tell people about you. Thanks for pushing as hard as you are.
