2) Students require laptops. Many families share one laptop which makes it impossible to participate, esp with parents working from home needing the laptop too. 3) Students need the internet which many don’t have. 4) Standardized tests cancelled. What happens to funding?
Internet should be FREE for all! The federal government should fund enough laptops for any student who needs one. Period. Public schools should be solely federally funded based on number of students, with additional funding available for students with disabilities or ESL.
Can you explain what the role government can play in broadband access? Obviously an infrastructure bill but what do we do with AT&T and expensive internet packages?
I believe it should be nationalized which does first include ensuring the infrastructure is in place to do so. Currently we have allowed companies to dominate and monopolize certain regions and drive up prices for all.
